Why Have Wedding Favors At Your Wedding?

The tradition of wedding favors has been around as long as weddings themselves. This tradition is shared by every culture around the world.

The classic wedding favor is the candy-coated almond known as the Jordan almond.  The bitterness of the almond and the sweetness of the candy are there to represent the bitter sweetness of marriage itself.  It has been tradition to wrap them in elegant fabric or place them in lovely confection boxes to further represent, health, wealth, happiness and fertility.

Wedding favors have since evolved into so much more than the symbolic Jordan almond.  They represent the style of the couple.  Wedding favors have become such an important part of wedding planning since the couple’s choice in favors says a little something about their style.

Some couples will burn a CD of the music that they have selected for the wedding that will provide their guests with listening enjoyment and a melodic reminder of the couples special day.

Wedding favors are often personalized with the couple’s names or initials as well as the wedding date appearing on the token.  Silver picture frames, and even clear coasters can display a photograph of the couple.

Some couples are turning toward the eco-chic wedding favor.  That is to give a gift that will exemplify the concept of the Earth friendly, green wedding that is becoming very popular.  Favors such as re-usable grocery shopping bags, soy candles and potted fresh herbs are among some of the popular choices.

To sum it all up, wedding favors are traditional, and they say a little something about the couple, but they also are a sweet way to tell the guests how much they are appreciated by the bride and groom.
